I've been to Salt Lake City twice, both times to attend professional meetings (in 2017 and 2021). Salt Lake City is all about Mormons. The convention center is located near Temple Square. The 222-foot temple is the center piece of the 10-acre square. It took 40 years to construct and is considered sacred. There are no public tours. Temple Square is currently being renovated to withstand earthquakes.

Salt Lake City is a great base to visit Utah's "
Mighty Five" national parks: Arches, Canyonlands, Capital Reef, Zion, and Bryce. There are also a lot of state parks worth visiting.
