Home of the Geysers

September 20, 2025 -- Haukadalur Geothermal Field is located along the Golden Circle. It was the third geothermal area we visited in Iceland. It is the home to the geysers Strokkur and Geysir, which gave the world the word "geyser". Strokkur erupts every few minutes. Geysir is less active, but historically important.
