Loch Awe Railway Bridge

Loch Awe Railway Bridge was built in 1878. It is the longest bridge structure along the historic route of the former Callendar and Oban Railway line. Presently, it is an important part of Scotland's railway system. The bridge is situated at the northeastern end of Loch Awe, right next to the path that leads to Kilchurn Castle ruins.

The path to the castle was under the bridge.

The environs

Pretty, but supposedly invasive

There were some Highland cattle (well, at least one) grazing near the bridge (and castle), but they (it) was too far away to get a good picture.

Always livestock nearby
