Kirbuster Farm Museum

There wasn't much going on at the Kirbuster Farm Museum (Orkney mainland). In fact, no one was there. It was open, but closed. It didn't look like it was kept up either. Too bad. It was a quick stop for us. We wandered around, took a few pictures, especially of the sheep, and left. I was more interested than the others.

Kirbuster is the last un-restored example of a traditional "firehoose" in Northern Europe. It was occupied up to the 1960's. The name Kirbuster comes from the Norse words for church (kirk) and farm (buster).
