Dyrhólaey Peninsula

September 15, 2025 -- Dyrholaey Peninsula is a 394-foot cape on Iceland's South Coast, close to the town of Vik. It was formed by volcanic activity and used to be an island. It is the southern most point of Iceland.  It consisted of three attractions:  a lighthouse, a sea arch, and breathtaking views in all directions. The area has been used in various movies and TV shows, including Game of Thrones and Noah.

Dyrholaey’s most recognizable attraction is its massive rock arch, a result of centuries of erosion. When the sea is calm, ships can sail through it. Someone even flew a small engine plane through it. It is 394 feet high and shaped like an arch.
