Twelvemile Beach

October 19, 2025 -- Twelvemile Beach is situated along Lake Superior within the Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore, 15 miles west of Grand Marais. It is a 12-mile long stretch of pristine beach. It was a stop-off for Ty and I. He needed to play in Lake Superior.

Lake Superior is the largest of the Great Lakes. It holds 10% of the world's fresh water and is the largest fresh water lake in the world by surface area. Lake Superior empties into Lake Huron via the St. Mary's River and Soo Locks (also on my itinerary).
