At the end of our Outlander tour, our tour guide took us to see the Forth Bridge. We stopped in a small waterfront town where we were able to view the bridge and take pictures. The Forth Bridge is a cantilever railway bridge across the Firth of Forth in the east of Scotland, 9 miles west of central Edinburgh. It is open to only trains and was completed in 1895. It is considered a symbol of Scotland and is a UNESCO World Heritage site.

There are two other bridges that are adjacent. When it was built in 1964, the Forth Road Bridge was the longest suspension bridge in the world (outside of the US). Only certain vehicles, pedestrians, and cyclists are permitted to use it. The Queensferry Crossing opened in 2017 and is the main road bridge.
