Canadian Rockies

October 2015 -- I was invited to speak at a sheep conference in Red Deer, Alberta, Canada. I gladly accepted the invitation and decided to go for an extra week. I went sightseeing for few days, visiting Jasper and Banff National Parks. I also asked my hosts to show me around. They took me to several sheep and goat farms, as well as a lamb processing plant.

Alberta is one of the 13 Canadian provinces. It is part of Western Canada and one of the three prairie provinces. Oil and gas are the primary industries. Agriculture and livestock are also important. Alberta is known for its natural beauty and is one of the prettiest places I have ever visited. My first trip to Alberta was in 1997 when I took a cross-country road trip with my dog Sam. I was so happy when I was asked to speak at the conference that took me back to Alberta. I was asked a few years later to speak at a goat conference, but sadly had a conflict.
