Mad King Ludwig's fairytale castle

Mom and I visited Neuschwanstein Castle in 1991. My pictures don't do it justice. 

Neuschwanstein Castle

 "Mad King Ludwig" (King Ludwig II of Bavaria) built three major fairytale castles and palaces across southern Bavaria, Germany. One of them was Neuschwanstein Castle. Neuschwanstein Castle was built between 1869 and 1892. Ludwig nearly bankrupted the monarchy making the castle, and in order to remove him from the throne, he was declared insane. He died mysteriously before the castle was completed. Nowadays it is one of the most visited attractions in Europe.
