Sach's Covered Bridge

Sach's Covered Bridge is a 100-foot long truss covered bridge located near the Gettysburg Civil War Battlefield.  It was built in 1852 and is Pennsylvania's most historic bridge. It is also considered to be one of the most beautiful covered bridges in America. The bridge damaged substantially by floods in 1996 and was repaired and rededicated in 1997.

I love covered bridges.

Sach's Bridge is considered to be haunted due to its heavy ties to the Civil War. Both armies used the bridge during and in the aftermath of the Battle of Gettysburg. Three Confederate soldiers were reportedly hanged from the bridge's wooden rafters for desertion or espionage.

I have visited Sach's Covered Bridge several times, with Mom and Robin. Of all the covered bridges I have visited (and there are many), this is definitely one of the most scenic. It also has most interesting history, due to its Civil War connection.
