When Mom visited me in Poland, we took took a trip to Vienna and Prague. Vienna is the capitol and most populous city of Austria. It sits on the Danube.

We visited Schönbrunn Palace and Belvedere Palace. Schönbrunn Palace was the main summer residence of the Habsburg rulers. The Baroque palace has 1441 rooms. I wouldn't want to have to clean them! The Belvedere is a historic building complex and art museum. It consists of two Baroque palaces (Upper and Lower; real original!) and a formal Baroque garden. The term baroque means extravagantly ornate, highly detailed, and overly complex in style. They were. On our tour, we befriended an Indian man named Tej. He worked for the World Bank. He hung with us.

The Danube Tower is the tallest structure in Austria. It is 827 feet high and ranks as the 61st tallest tower in the world. We took one of the two high speed elevators to the viewing platform. Of course, the views were spectacular.
