Lara found a house near Cromane beach for us to stay while we were in the area of Killorglin. We each had our own room and were able to do some laundry. Instead of eating out (it was always hard to find places still open), we bought food at a local store and prepared it ourselves.
Cromane beach was a stony, rugged, peaceful beach, not a touristy one. The village's Irish name, An Cromán meaning "hip bone", derives from the shape of the peninsula, which resembles a hip when seen on a map. Cromane was 5.6 mi west of Killorglin.
