In October, I spent two weeks in China. It was a great trip. Here are my initial impressions (in no particular order) of the world's most populated country:
  • Smog
  • Crowded
  • Colorful
  • New construction
  • Contrasts
  • Cell phones
  • Concrete and bricks
  • Small dogs and pretty cats
  • Chopsticks and lazy susans
  • Ping Pong and badmitton
  • Bicycles, motocycles, and motor scooters
  • Honking
  • Hand labor
  • Food on a stick
  • Desire to speak English
  • Brooms
  • Toll roads
  • Basketball courts
  • Heavy loads
  • Vehicles with three wheels
  • Service-oriented
  • Stopping in the middle of the road
  • Litter
  • No fat people
  • Bathroom scales
  • Goats being led somewhere
  • Cranes
  • Corn drying in the road
  • Smiles
  • Friendly people
  • No loud music
  • Dirty bathrooms
  • Young soldiers
  • Well-dressed farmers
  • Slits in todder's pants
  • White goats
  • Rickshaws
  • Bad teeth
  • No tipping
  • Children wearing warm-up suits and carrying Snoopy backpacks
